Service duration, the shop’s booking buffer, staff schedules and time-off blocks are all checked before a slot is offered. The same staff member cannot be booked into two overlapping appointments.
Email confirmations and reminders.
Email confirmation on every booking. SMS reminders (Pro add-on) at your chosen lead time. Cancellations route back to free up the slot.
Customer records on every plan.
A booking with an email address creates or updates a customer record, on every plan. Search by name, phone, or email. Notes stay with the customer, not the booking.
Several staff, one calendar.
Add staff, assign services per stylist, set individual schedules. Availability is worked out per person, so two chairs never collide.
Optional card payments.
Optional card payments at 3.75% + 45¢ per charge, all-in. That one rate covers card processing, fraud screening and payouts by Stripe — nothing else is deducted. Payouts land in your bank.

Give a service more than one seat and it becomes a class: eight people, one time, one instructor. When it sells out the slot stays up, and anyone can ask to be told if a place opens. When a place opens, everyone on the waitlist is told within five minutes.

Frequently asked questions.
- Do you take a cut of my bookings?
- No, not on bookings themselves. If you don't enable card payments, you pay a flat monthly subscription and keep 100% of what your clients pay you in cash, card, or app. If you opt in to Booked card payments (Pro only), you pay 3.75% + 45¢ per successful charge, all-in, with a $5.00 minimum charge. No separate platform fee and no surcharge for premium cards. That one rate covers card processing, fraud screening and payouts by Stripe.
- Do I need to enter a credit card to start?
- No. Sign in with email or Google, claim your slug, and start booking. We only ask for a card if you choose to stay on a paid plan after the 14-day trial.
- How does the 14-day trial work?
- Every new shop gets 14 full days free on the plan it signed up for. Pick Pro from the table above and the trial is Pro — deposits, unlimited staff, SMS and multi-location for the fortnight. Pick Starter and the trial is Starter. Start free without choosing and you get Pro. No card is needed either way, and nothing is charged without your explicit checkout.
- Can I switch plans or cancel?
- Yes. Plan changes and cancellation are self-serve via the Stripe customer portal from your billing page. You keep access until the end of your current period.
- Do you send SMS reminders?
- Email reminders are included on every plan. SMS reminders are a Pro add-on at $5/month ($50 on yearly billing), including 500 messages a month — or, on yearly billing, 7,000 for the year, credited up front. Carrier fees are included. If you need more, you can buy top-up packs from your billing page: 1,000 credits for $7 or 2,000 for $12. Top-up credits don't expire and roll over month to month.
- Can I add my whole team?
- Starter is one seat. Pro is unlimited staff seats with individual schedules, services, and time-off blocks. Add or remove people anytime; billing doesn’t change.
- Can I run classes or group sessions, not just one-to-one?
- Yes, on every plan. Set “seats per session” on a service and it becomes a class: eight people can book the same 10:00 with the same instructor, each with their own booking, confirmation, and reference. The slot closes itself when the last seat goes. Seats are per staff member, so two instructors each running a class of eight at the same hour is sixteen places. A class at 10:00 also blocks a one-to-one booking at 10:00 for the same staff member.
- What happens when a class is full?
- The slot stays on your booking page marked FULL instead of vanishing, and anyone can leave their name to be told if a place opens. We re-check every five minutes, so a cancellation, a reschedule, or you adding a seat all trigger the alert — by email, text, or both. The freed place is not held for anyone. Everyone waiting is told at the same moment and whoever books first gets it. Your calendar shows who is waiting, and every message has a one-tap link to leave the list.
- Can I run more than one location under one brand?
- Yes, on Pro. Your brand lives at booked.co/<brand> and each location gets its own page at booked.co/<brand>/<location> with its own address, hours, staff, and services. Logo, brand color, category, and white-label settings stay in sync across every location automatically. Additional locations are $9/month each ($90 on yearly billing), pro-rated from the day you add them, and roll into the same subscription as the rest of your plan.
- What if I run multiple brands?
- Each brand gets its own account and its own subscription. We don’t merge unrelated brands under a single login because billing, payouts, staff permissions, and SMS sender IDs are all brand-scoped. If you operate several distinct brands, sign up each one separately.
- Can I take deposits at booking?
- Yes, on Pro. Verify your business in a few minutes (we onboard you onto our payments infrastructure via Stripe Connect), set the deposit percentage you want to collect, and Booked charges the Customer's card at booking. You can also choose to collect the full service amount instead of a deposit. Either way, the rate is 3.75% + 45¢ per successful charge, all-in, on a $5.00 minimum, and payouts land in your bank on a 2-day rolling schedule.
- Is annual billing cheaper?
- Yes. Yearly billing on any plan or add-on is priced at ten months for the year, so you save about 17%. You can switch between monthly and yearly from your billing page; we'll pro-rate the difference.
- Is my data mine?
- Yes. Customers, bookings, and services export to CSV from your dashboard. If you cancel, data is kept for 60 days after the paid period ends and then deleted, so export before you leave.
- Where are you based and who built this?
- Booked is built in the US by PasskeyBridge LLC (Casper, WY). The team has run shops before.
