Booked vs Schedulicity
Schedulicity and Booked solve the same problem for the same kind of business. The differences are pricing shape, how much of the product you have to configure, and whether text reminders arrive as a bundled cost or an add-on you choose.
Side by side
| Schedulicity | Booked | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Tends to scale with providers on the account | Flat per shop, unlimited staff on Pro |
| Text reminders | Bundled into plan tiers | A named add-on. Up to 500 messages a cycle, Pro only |
| Classes | Well supported | Multi-seat sessions only. Not a full class product |
| Card processing | Bundled with the booking product on most plans | Optional. 3.75% + 45¢ per successful charge, all-in, and only if you turn it on |
| Leaving | Export what the platform chooses to export | Export customers and bookings as CSV, any time, without asking support |
Choose Schedulicity when
- You want their class and workshop tooling, which goes deeper than Booked's.
- You are already set up there and the cost difference is not worth a migration.
- You want marketing campaign tools inside the same product.
Choose Booked when
- You want a flat per-shop price rather than one that tracks providers.
- You want SMS priced explicitly so you can see what it costs.
- You want a shorter setup and fewer switches to get wrong.
Questions
- Does Booked handle classes?
- Partly. A service can seat several people in one sitting, which covers a small group class. It does not do packages, series enrolment or waitlisted terms.
- How many text reminders do I get?
- Up to 500 per billing cycle on the SMS add-on, which requires Pro. The cap exists so a runaway month cannot produce a surprise bill.
