Time-off block

A time-off block removes a window from the bookable calendar for one staff member or the whole shop. It stops new bookings in that window and leaves appointments already booked where they are.

Also called: blocked time, staff time off

A block is for a one-off: an afternoon at the dentist, a long weekend, a week of holiday. Time off that repeats every week belongs in the weekly hours instead, so there is nothing to add again each week.

Because a block does not cancel or move existing bookings, the order matters. A block entered before the dates fill costs nothing. A block entered after means contacting the clients already in that window.

In Booked, time-off blocks are on Dashboard → Hours, scoped to one staff member or to the whole shop, with a reason so the owner remembers why. A block does not notify anyone.
