Switch from Instagram DM bookings

The biggest quality-of-life upgrade a shop can make. Here is how in an hour.

If your booking system today is "DM me to book" or a link-in-bio spreadsheet, the switch to Booked is the single change with the largest payoff you can make. It removes the back-and-forth, silences the after-hours pings, and gives every customer the same confirmation.

The one-hour version

  1. Sign up and claim your slug (10 min).
  2. Add your 3–8 most common services with duration and price (15 min).
  3. Set your opening hours for a standard week (10 min).
  4. Add staff (Pro, 5 min per person).
  5. Put the URL — literally booked.co/<your-slug> — in your Instagram bio, your Google Business "Book" button, and your voicemail (20 min).

Start with the services you book most, not all of them. A page with six services that are right beats a page with twenty that are half-finished, and adding the rest later takes a minute each.

What changes on Day 1

The DM habit takes a fortnight to break

Expect to spend two weeks replying to booking DMs with the link. Some regulars will keep asking anyway — that is fine, and it is worth being gracious about it rather than insisting.

Pin the link to your profile, put it in your story highlights, and set it as the Instagram action button as well as the bio link. Three places, because people look in different ones.

What to keep from your DM workflow

Regulars who like the personal touch can still DM you; you just book them through the dashboard yourself and the confirmation goes out from Booked. Best of both — and their visit history still builds up in the customer list either way.
