Switch from Booksy
The marketplace question, and how to move the pieces that matter.
Booksy pairs booking software with a marketplace listing. That is a good pitch if you rely on the marketplace for new clients. If most of your bookings come from regulars, Instagram, or Google, the marketplace is a tax you are paying for traffic you already had.
Work out whether the marketplace is earning its keep
Before anything else, look at where last month's new clients came from. Booksy attributes marketplace bookings in its reports. If the number is small, the decision makes itself; if it is a third of your new business, leaving costs you that channel and nothing in Booked replaces it.
That is the whole of the Booksy question. Everything below is mechanics.
What Booked replaces
- Booking page — replaced by
booked.co/<slug>. - Reminders — replaced by email (Starter+) and SMS ($5 add-on, Pro).
- Customer directory — replaced by the Booked CRM (Pro).
- Deposits and no-show protection — replaced by Booked Card Payments (Pro), at 3.75% + 45¢ all-in.
What Booked does not replace
- The Booksy marketplace itself. Booked has no marketplace and no discovery.
- In-app payments to stylists. Booked's Card Payments settles to the shop's bank account, not to individual staff wallets. A shop where each chair is paid separately will have to handle the split itself.
Export from Booksy
Booksy allows CSV export of the customer list from the business dashboard (Clients → Export). Import it at Dashboard → Import data, choosing Customers.
If you can also export appointments, import them as Past bookings — Booked takes historical appointments and files them against the right customer, silently, with no messages sent. That is what gives a migrated shop a visit history from day one rather than an empty customer list.
If the export is restricted
Booksy has at times limited what a leaving business can take with it. If yours will not export cleanly, email hello@booked.co — we have helped shops assemble a list from their own booking confirmations and appointment reports when the directory export was closed to them.
