How the booking buffer works
A single number that stops customers booking the slot you're currently standing in.
The booking buffer is one setting on Dashboard → Hours measured in minutes. It removes slots from the public page that are too close to "right now" for you to prepare for.
What it does
At every page load, the public booking page hides any slot that starts before now() + buffer_minutes. Nothing else changes—hours, staff schedules, deposits, and existing bookings behave the same.
Picking a value
| Shop type | Recommended buffer |
|---|---|
| Walk-in friendly | 15 min |
| One-chair barbershop | 60 min |
| Multi-chair salon with prep | 90 to 120 min |
| Color and chemical work | 180 to 240 min |
What it does not do
- It doesn't cancel bookings already on the calendar.
- It doesn't block the phone or bookings you enter manually.
- It doesn't apply to the next day's first slot.
Change it any time. Effect is immediate.
