Block time off

Vacations, single days, or a two-hour lunch. Blocks belong to a staff member, not the whole shop.

A time-off block takes a window out of the schedule. It can apply to one staff member or to the whole shop, and it can be any length from an hour to a fortnight.

Steps

  1. Open Dashboard → Hours and scroll to Time off.
  2. Under Who, choose a staff member, or Whole shop (closure) to close everyone.
  3. Set From and To.
  4. Add a reason — "Vacation", "Dentist" — so you remember why the slot is gone.
  5. Save.

The window stops being bookable on your public page immediately. A shop-wide block applies to every staff member, including any you add later.

Existing bookings are not touched

Blocking time does not cancel appointments already in that window. They stay on your calendar. Cancel or reschedule them yourself, and tell the client — a block only stops new bookings.

The rule of thumb: if it is a one-off, use a time-off block, because there is nothing to remember to undo afterwards. If it is every week from now on, change the hours or the schedule.

Repeating time off

There is no repeat option on a block. For something that recurs weekly, change the weekly hours or the staff schedule instead. For an irregular pattern — every other Sunday, say — add each block separately.
