Add a staff member

One row per person. Give them a role, and services if they take bookings.

Every appointment lives against a staff member — that is the calendar column it sits in.

Steps

  1. Open Dashboard → Staff.
  2. Click Add staff.
  3. Fill in the fields:

- Display name — what customers see on the booking page. Required.

- Avatar — optional photo.

- Email and phone — both optional. Email is what "email me when booked" uses.

- Colour tag — how their bookings are shaded on the calendar. Worth setting properly the moment you have three people.

- Bio — optional, up to 280 characters, shown on the public page.

  1. Save.

Then set what they do

Open the staff row and use Services they do & pricing. Tick each service they offer. A staff member with nothing ticked does not appear on the public page at all, which is how you add a receptionist without putting them in front of customers.

The same panel takes a price and duration override per service, so one stylist's haircut can be $65 and 50 minutes while another's is $45 and 35, without creating two services.

Then set when they work

Their weekly hours are on Dashboard → Hours, further down the page. They default to the shop's hours, so a full-timer needs nothing. See Set staff hours.

How many staff can I add?

If you are on Starter and you add a second staff member, we prompt you to upgrade before saving.

There is no role field

Booked does not label people Barber or Stylist. Job titles are a bio matter. What does exist is account access: whether a person can sign in to the dashboard, and at what level, is separate from being a staff member on the calendar.
