Set staff hours
Staff schedules slot inside shop hours. Narrower is fine. Wider isn't.
Shop hours are the outer envelope. Staff hours are intersected with them: a staff member can work fewer hours than the shop, never more. That is how you handle part-time staff and split shifts.
Steps
- Open Dashboard → Hours and scroll to the staff schedules section.
- Pick the staff member.
- For each weekday, add one or more time ranges, or leave the day empty to mark them off.
- Save.
Split shifts
If a stylist works 9–12 and 2–6, add both ranges on the same weekday. The gap is unbookable. Two ranges that touch — 9–1 and 1–6 — are treated as one continuous stretch, so an appointment can run across the join.
When shop hours change
Staff schedules are stored exactly as you entered them and are never rewritten. Availability is worked out by intersecting the two at the time someone books, so:
- Shorten the shop's hours and any staff time outside the new window simply stops being bookable. The schedule still says 9 if you set it to 9; it just has no effect before 10.
- Lengthen the shop's hours and staff shifts do not widen to match. You have to extend each person yourself.
One-off changes
For a single day — a dentist appointment, a school pickup — use a time-off block rather than editing the weekly schedule, so there is nothing to undo afterwards.
