Reschedule a booking
Drag on the calendar, or open the booking and pick a new time. The customer gets an email.
Two ways to reschedule. Same result either way — the booking updates and the customer receives a reschedule email with the new time.
Drag on the calendar
- Open Dashboard → Calendar.
- Click and drag the booking block to the new slot.
- Confirm when the dialog appears.
Drags respect shop hours, staff schedules, and other bookings. A conflicting drop shows a red outline and does not commit.
Edit the booking
- Click the booking on the calendar.
- Click Reschedule.
- Pick a new date, time, and — if the customer asked — a different staff member.
- Save.
You are not bound by the customer's window
Customers rescheduling themselves can move freely until your notice period and once inside it, and are refused a time that breaks your booking rules (too soon, too far ahead, closed, or the staff member off). You are not. Moving a booking to an hour from now, or onto a day the shop is closed, is allowed from the dashboard, because sometimes that is genuinely what happened.
That is a privilege worth using carefully: nothing warns you that you have put a client somewhere the shop is shut.
What the customer gets
An email with the new time, the same booking reference, and a link back to their confirmation page. If SMS is on, they also get a text. Their reminder is re-armed for the new time, so they get one for the appointment they are actually attending.
What does not change
- The booking reference (
/b/<ref>). - Any deposit taken at the original booking. It follows the booking; it is not refunded and not re-charged.
- Notes attached to the booking.
Changing the service too
Rescheduling can move the time and the staff member. If the service itself is changing — a trim becoming a full colour — the duration changes with it, so cancel and rebook, or edit the booking's service if the new one fits the slot.
