Price and duration a service
Duration includes cleanup. Price is what the customer pays in full. No hidden fees at checkout.
Two numbers per service, both worth thinking about for a minute.
Duration
Include everything the chair is occupied. A "30-minute haircut" that is 25 minutes of work plus 10 minutes of sweep-up is a 40-minute service. Underestimating stacks bookings and creates the "we're running behind" spiral.

Price
Set the price the customer pays, in US dollars. Booked does not add tax at checkout; if you are somewhere that requires tax to be displayed, include it in the sticker price.
If you take deposits, the deposit percentage is calculated on the whole price. A 25% deposit on a $50 haircut is $12.50 at booking and $37.50 in the chair.
When one service has two prices
A senior stylist charging more is not a second service. Set one service and give each staff member a price and duration override on their own row — see Assign services to a staff member. The customer sees the right number once they have chosen a person, and your public page stays short.
Editing later
Changes apply to new bookings. Existing bookings keep their original price and duration — Booked does not retroactively rewrite an appointment when the service definition changes, which is what stops a price rise from silently altering what somebody already agreed to.
