Stop receiving emails from a shop
Use the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email.
Every non-transactional email a shop sends through Booked has an Unsubscribe link in the footer. One click removes you from that shop's list.
Emails also carry a one-click List-Unsubscribe header, so most mail clients — Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook — show an unsubscribe button next to the sender name. Using that is exactly the same as clicking the link in the footer.
Transactional emails
Booking confirmations, reminders, reschedule and cancellation emails do not carry an unsubscribe link, because they are messages you asked for by booking. They are the record of an appointment you made. To stop those, cancel the appointment.
There is no middle setting — no "reminders off, confirmations on". If reminders are unwelcome, the practical answer is to book with a phone number instead, or to tell the shop.
Unsubscribing is per shop
Each shop keeps its own customer list, so opting out of one shop's marketing has no effect on another. If you have booked with three shops and want out of all three, you will need to unsubscribe three times.
Email is separate from SMS
Unsubscribing from email does not stop texts, and texting STOP does not stop email. They are different systems with different rules: the email opt-out is per shop, and the SMS opt-out covers every shop at once, because the texts come from shared numbers. See Stop receiving SMS from Booked.
What if they keep coming?
Give it a few minutes — an email already on its way will still land. After that, reply to the message and tell the shop, or write to hello@booked.co with a copy of the email. A shop sending marketing after an unsubscribe is a problem worth hearing about.
Marking it as spam instead
It works, in the sense that you stop seeing the messages, but it counts against the shop's sending reputation rather than against the list you wanted off. Unsubscribing is both faster for you and fairer to a small business — and unlike a spam report, it is something the shop can see and act on.
